My Top 5

1. Melissa Theuriau. Head and shoulders above the rest. Mademoiselle Theuriau is beautiful, smart, classy, and is the gold standard among newscasters.

2. Emmy Rossum. Actress, singer, cute. She's got a great smile and seems really down to earth.

3. Eva Green. Can't go wrong with a Bond Girl right? She's a good actress and there's just something about her sultry looks that's very striking. Maybe its because I have a soft spot for goth girls but Eva Green's fashion is very gothic-esk.

4. Natalie Glebova. Miss Universe 2005, need I say more? Well, I will say more because she is more than just Miss Universe 2005. She can play the piano, has promoted charitable causes worldwide, and I can't fault her for liking Tennis

5. Julianne Hough. What's not to like? She's talented, vivacious, and always has a great smile. C'mon, she's a fellow milk connoisseur too!

Honorable Mention

Yoon Eun Hye. She cute, funny, and energetic. Her role in Goong was perfectly played and was really adorable. However, minus points considering every Korean actress gets plastic surgery and the fact that she is a little too thin. Girls with some meat on their bones = ^_^

Cat Tien. Ok, so she's talented, got a great smile, and she's got meat on her bones, so why isn't she in my Top 5? I could have sworn she got a slight nose job (but I am not sure so don't quote me on this) and well...she's got a passing resemblance to my aunt. Just barely but still enough for me to think twice.

Belle from Beauty and the Beast. Yes, I know she's a cartoon character, that's exactly why she is not in my Top 5. However, hear me out. Beauty and the Beast was the first Disney movie I saw and it blew my 5-year-old (I think I was five) mind away! She's smart, adventurous, and is a strong girl, capable of handling herself.

Ashley Tisdale of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody and High School Musical fame (don't ask why I know). She's cute. However, I don't really like her music. But what's the real downer is that most of her fans are 13 and under. I feel really creep watching the same music video that millions of little girls dance to. Let me repeat that, DANCE TO. Parents, where are you??

Sophie Marceau. Another Bond girl eh? Her role as Elektra King in The World is Not Enough was what saved that movie. And I'm only talking about the acting. Add in her sultry looks and you have a dynamite combo! She's kind of older now though and I think the French stereotype of the chain smoking French woman has finally caught up to her (many apologies if she really doesn't smoke).

Same Mistake

Much like how this entry is wrapped by two positive (although somewhat strange) entries, once you peal away the smile, the enthusiasm, the eccentricity and the bravado, what you have left of me is this. Sometimes I feel as if its all a charade.

That's a big cat

Cougar - An older woman who frequents clubs in order to score with a much younger man. The cougar can be anyone from an overly surgically altered wind tunnel victim, to an absolute sad and bloated old horn-meister, to a real hottie or MILF.

So, after overhearing a conversation or two over the holidays, one of my goals before I graduate will be to go to a certain hangout in a certain area that has a well established reputation as a cougar hangout.

NOTE: I AM NOT GOING THERE TO BE COUGAR BAIT. I JUST WANT TO OBSERVE THE SOCIAL DANCE BETWEEN POTENTIALLY UNDER AGE GUYS AND OVER THE HILL WOMEN

I mentioned this to a couple of the law students here, hoping that I can persuade a few of them to embark on this adventure before we all finish law school. Of the dozen or so people I've asked, only one has agreed to go with me. C'mon! Are lawyers not trained to be litigious and adversarial? And isn't a sense of bravado and daringness required if one is to be litigious and adversarial? Are we training a generation of pansied lawyers?

A few law students have been willing to bargain though. However, they all require me going home with a lady over 70. No. Now, hypothetically speaking, I may be willing to be bait for a coug in her 30s (maybe even early 40s), but no way am I willing to be cougar bait for someone over 70. Not only is it gross, but it violates one of the unwritten rules of dating: half your age + seven. The absolutely youngest man a 70-year-old woman can go for is 41. Forty-one. I am nowhere near 41. I don't even look my age.

Furthermore, no matter how rich the lady is, my personal experience volunteering at a retirement home has taught me to stay in my dating-age range. I once had to slow dance with a lady no younger than 70. Half way through the dance, I noticed an absolutely detestable smell. Not wanting to be rude, I continued to smile and make small talk with the lady who by this time looked kinda spaced out. Only after the dance did I put two and two together and realized that the absolutely detestable smell most likely emanated from the lady's diaper. She pooped half way through our dance! Argh!

Sympathy for her sorry state of affairs

Several news outlets have been reporting that Britney Spears penned a suicidal letter days before her standoff with police where she locked herself in her bathroom with her 1-year-old son. Spears' friend found the letter and said it "was very [sad]. It was filled with reasons why she shouldn't live, included lines from poems about death. She said in it she was sorry for never making her life what everyone else wanted. She mentioned how lonely and unfair life could be, how peaceful death seems and how your mind would finally be at ease...She went on about just wanting to just rest in peace."

Frankly, I don't feel as if Britney should be an object of ridicule or disgust anymore. She needs help but it seems as if everyone around her is there only to cash in on her wealth. With everyone around her acting as parasites, I can see why she sees her life as being "lonely and unfair" and I can sympathize with her for feeling the way she does.

It really does make one wonder about how callous people can be towards one another. Aside from the paparazzi, I really see no winners in this case. Britney is a mess, her children may very well end up growing up without their mother, even K-Fed would not win. He would most likely battle it out in court with Britney's estate or Britney's family for whatever is left if Britney is to commit suicide. Its a sad, pathetic situation all around.

Strange second day

Merely two days into Spring semester 08, I have fallen into a series of (mis)adventures. There I was, sitting in the first class lecture for securities regulation and realizing I am in way over my head. I barely even know what a security is let alone know all of the background knowledge that my fellow classmates knew. So what did I do? I logged online to find comfort in other law students! Here's the snippet:

Me: yea, everyone in here looks like a gunner
Her: eep
Me: and i'm only a pistol
Me: =(
Her: HAHAHA
Her: i'm like a water pistol
Her: one of those nerf ones

Stupid me though had to buy a brand new securities regulation book that I am now unable to return because I took the book out of its shrink wrap.

Again with the stupid theme. Being a master of procrastination-fu, I waited until now to sell some of my textbooks. I will only sell textbooks that I think are poorly authored and unfortunately, the bookstore would only offer me $10 per book I offered. Aside from their poor writing, the books are in good condition with little writing in them and I had bought them new. Oh well...the late bird does not get the worm.

And now I am in a bind. Stick through with securities regulation? Take administrative law? Or take entertainment law? Decisions, decisons

Beijing National Acrobatic Troupe

(Psst, pictures are clickable. Correction: Only the first picture is clickable. Stupid blogger.) One word: Amazing. The Beijing National Acrobatic Troupe's performance a few nights ago was simply a jaw-dropping experience. The act had a thunderous opening but never let up. From delicate dancers to feats of strength, everything was electrifying. In fact, it was two hours of near impossibility in human ability. I have never applauded for so long, so passionately. By the end of the show, the audience was on its feet and I am sure nobody wanted it to end. Although the tickets were expensive, it was well worth the price of admission.

I took some pictures but they fail to do justice to simply being there and experiencing all the sights and sounds of the performance yourself. It was a fitting ending to my winter break and hopefully the new year will be just as exciting.

Opps...

Ok, so I messed up. I forgot to type a quick message when at my favorite breakfast place. The mere sight and smell of my South Coast Finest omelette with extra diced ham was overpowering. However, lots of other people have reviewed The Omelette Parlor so you can check it out yourself.
